Voyager Innovations Inc , the digital unit of the PLDT Group, has just launched an innovative way for brands and businesses to reach more of their customers online while sparing these customers the pain of data charges. The concept is B2B2C (or Business to Business to Commerce). The merchants and PLDT came together (B2B) to create partner sites accessible via a portal called safezone.ph. In turn, these merchants have access to their mobile customers (B2C) who are able to surf these partner sites from within the SafeZone portal WITHOUT INCURRING DATA CHARGES.

We have a two-year old flat TV. It's served our needs all these time since we are not voracious TV watchers except for the news channels and some TV shows and movies that are of interest. There was a time when the only way you could buy from the App Store and iTunes was with a credit card. Not anymore. Today, Smart announced that they were launching the world's first pay-with-load service. Yes, it is the first one in the world where Smart subscribers can now use their prepaid load or have their postpaid bill charged for stuff they buy on both sites. Dubbed " Pay-With-Mobile ", this new service eliminates the need for a credit card. A Smart subscriber can now have access to paid content and even make in-app purchases through the App Store (Philippines only) and iTunes. Just imagine the impact of this on many Smart subscribers who had smartphones but didn't have a credit card.

Last February 10, 2015 was Safer Internet Day and in order to help raise awareness of the importance of online safety, Google is offering all those who run Security Checkups on their Google accounts an EXTRA 2GB on their Google Drive. I'm happy that Smart is making the smart move to make store visits a more pleasant experience. They are now transforming their Smart Stores from traditional telco hubs to one where they can support their subscribers' digital lifestyles. Visits to telco service centers have not always been something I'd look forward to. Going into one meant getting a number and simply killing time waiting for the monitor to call up your number to a counter so you could be assisted. I found the waiting a waste of time.
