Pre-orders now being accepted for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge coming this February

Image
Before anything else, I want to let you know that only 1,000 units of the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will be made available for pre-ordering till February 15 so if you have been waiting for this beauty, this is the time to place your order. I was able to hold the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge some time back when I got hold of the unit of my friend, Art Samaniego. Art always had first dibs on most of the new gadgets that come into the marketplace and at a blogger event, he gladly made me hold and admire the Note Edge.

Samsung launches its A Series smartphones

Image
Valkyrie, a swanky new nightclub nestled in the still-to-be-fully-developed Uptown Parade section of Bonifacio Global City, was the scene of the launch recently of Samsung's A series of smartphones -- the A3, A5 and A7 smartphones. This is the perfect kind of phone for me - the A7 - big screen but light & still easy to hold

Samsung Unpacked Episode 2 Presents the Note 3, the Galaxy Gear, and the Note 10.1 2014 Edition

Image
Last night, we stayed up till the wee hours of the morning watching the Berlin Samsung Unpacked 2013, Episode 2. The launch of 3 devices was witnessed by a throng of people at Times Square in New York who gathered to watch the livestream together with the rest of the world. I was with a bunch of tech bloggers and avid Samsung users at a Makati hotel gathered around a wide screen Samsung TV. Over coffee (to keep us awake) and some midnight snacks, we talked about different Samsung mobile phones and their features while all the while trying to guess what new features would come out. The launch began just past 1AM Manila time. Mr. JK Shin, President and CEO and Head of IT and Mobile Communication Division of Samsung, announced the 3 devices that would be introduced: the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the Samsung Galaxy Gear, and the Samsung Note 10.1, 2014 edition. Initial Features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Compared to Note 2 Physical dimensions of the Note 3 ...

Samsung's SideSync Makes Connectivity and Sharing between its ATIV PC and Smartphone Easy

Image
Convergence is the new digital sexy. And I got a taste of sexy when Samsung sat some of us down to a demo of SideSync , an application that bridges the gap between your Samsung Android smartphone and the Samsung ATIV PC. Basically it allows you to connect both devices to allow you to see on the PC the exact same screen you have on your smartphone, drag and drop files between both devices, and back up important items on your phone to the PC. This is a summary of SideSync's features. Phone Screen Sharing The exact same image of your smartphone is replicated on one part of your PC screen (in fact, it is intelligent enough to even detect the model of your smartphone; the phone image on the PC mirrors the look of your smartphone). You can resize the phone screen on the PC and drag it either to the left or right side of your PC screen to suit your working style. Flip your phone to landscape orientation and its mirror image on the PC does the same. Keybo...

The Price is Right with Samsung's Smart Choice Series Smartphones

Image
If you are like me, with at least 2 mobile phones and just as many telcos, you will want to check out Samsung's line of four (4) Smart Choice Series smartphones , all of which are dual sim . Not only can you now get your 2 mobile phone numbers into just one gadget but the price range is budget-friendly while still packing some pretty advanced features. At the most affordable end of the series is the Samsung Galaxy S Duos (priced at PhP 7,990). It runs on Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich, has a built-in organizer, photo and video editor, and document viewer. It sports a 4.0" WVGA screen and runs on a 1 GHz single-core processor. A slot for a microSD card allows you to expand the phone's capacity up to 32GB. It sports a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. The battery is 1500 mAh. Galaxy S Duos, PhP 7,990

My firsthand experience with the new Samsung Galaxy S4

Image
The new Samsung Galaxy S4, a successor to my Galaxy S3 mobile phone, is out. It just launched at the Radio City Music Hall, New York City, a couple of days ago. I was one of the lucky people in the Philippines who was able to try out almost all of the new features. Seated with several tech bloggers in the club lounge of a local hotel, we watched the livestream of the entire launch on a flat Samsung TV. The hype was all there, Broadway style. I guess holding it in Radio City Music Hall, New York, famous for the Rockettes, meant you could do no less than a Broadway introduction. The whole shebang began with a short video of a boy, about 10 years old, carrying a small box labeled "Unpacked". He does a short tap dance on the steps of his home before getting into a limousine and drives to Radio City. That video then segues into the actual launch, which began with Mr. J K Shin (President and Head of the IT Mobile Communication Division of Samsung Electronics) doing the op...
