The Price is Right with Samsung's Smart Choice Series Smartphones

If you are like me, with at least 2 mobile phones and just as many telcos, you will want to check out Samsung's line of four (4) Smart Choice Series smartphones, all of which are dual sim. Not only can you now get your 2 mobile phone numbers into just one gadget but the price range is budget-friendly while still packing some pretty advanced features.

At the most affordable end of the series is the Samsung Galaxy S Duos (priced at PhP 7,990). It runs on Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich, has a built-in organizer, photo and video editor, and document viewer. It sports a 4.0" WVGA screen and runs on a 1 GHz single-core processor. A slot for a microSD card allows you to expand the phone's capacity up to 32GB. It sports a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. The battery is 1500 mAh.

The next higher model is the Samsung Galaxy Core, retailing at PhP 11,990. It is slightly larger than the S Duos with a 4.3"WVGA TFT display and runs on a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. The edges of this smartphone are slightly more rounded than the other Samsung smartphones. Like the S Duos, it comes with a 5MP rear camera but with an LED flash, as well as a VGA front camera, an 8GB internal storage with expandability using a microSD slot. This phone already runs on Jellybean and has an 1800 mAh battery. Other features built in include Motion UI, Smart Stay, Smart Alert and S Voice.

Everyone will find this a winner in terms of price and features. The Samsung Galaxy Win has a huge 4.7" WVGA TFT screen and a 1.2 GHz quad core processor running on Jellybean. It also has a 5MP rear cam and a VGA front cam. An FM radio tuner is a plus that one will find very practical on the go. This one has a 2000 mAh battery, 8GB internal storage and 1GB RAM, and a microSD slot for expansion up to 64GB.  The Galaxy Win is priced at PhP 14,990.

At the top of the Smart Choice series of smartphones is the Samsung Galaxy Grand. With a 5" TFT screen, it is the largest in the group. It is also the only one in the series that packs an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front cam. It runs on the 1.2 GHz dual core processor and has an 8GB internal storage. Like my SIII and the new S4, the Galaxy Grand can run multiwindows (a feature where two programs can be running simultaneously with the screen divided into two, allowing multitasking). The 2100 mAh battery also ensures longer lasting battery life. The Samsung Galaxy Grand retails for PhP 16,990.

No matter what one's budget is, you can't beat the prices of these dual sim smartphones. Not only does it allow you to carry two phones in one gadget but it certainly is easy on the pocket and light on the bag. As Eric Sulit, Samsung Mobile's Business Unit Director said, "In this day and age, we believe everyone deserves to have a smartphone. We at Samsung are always on the lookout to bring technology on the hands of as many Filipinos as possible, and these Samsung large-screen, dual-SIM smartphones are our way of making that vision happen."
