The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

The power and portability of a notebook combined with creative tools that are made for digital artists was recently unveiled at a press event.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is, as its size bears you out, both a tablet and a phone. It comes with a stylus called the S-Pen. Let's check out some of its features.

On the Outside

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes in black and white variants.

Here are some more photos showing the Galaxy Note 10.1 from different angles:

Slots for regular sim and micro SD card expandable up to 32GB

The stylus comes with 2 tips: rubber (for drawing and natural writing) and plastic (for navigating). The S-Pen is light but fat enough to be held like a regular pen.

Power on the Inside

What is inside the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is what counts more. With a 1.4GHz quad core processor combined with a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage capacity, the Galaxy Note 10.1 allows you to to do several things:

MULTITASK - you can split the screen and run different apps on each screen. This is great for researchers. You can run Google searches on one screen while typing up your report on another screen.

POP UP PLAY - Watch videos on one screen while doing other tasks on the tablet. Resize the pop up screen to your desired size so it does not impede your other task.

Watch a video on left screen and scribble notes a Notes app on the right.

SMART STAY - This feature is very much like my Samsung Galaxy SIII. The Galaxy Note 10.1 does not go to sleep for as long as it detects that your eyes are looking at the screen. It's one of those features that really enhances the user experience unlike other devices that sleep once idle time is reached, even if you are still using the device.

The built-in S Note app integrates 3 great features: Shape Match, Word Match and Formula Match. Shape Match recognizes shapes and redraws them for you perfectly; Word Match recognizes handwritten words and converts them to text; Formula Match recognizes handwritten formula symbols and converts them to the formula icons. Even if you write with squiggly lines, S Note will fix that.

And for digital artists, you'll be happy to know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes equipped with Adobe Photoshop Touch! Crop, resize and adjust photo settings on the fly! Dropbox, like my Samsung Galaxy SIII, gives Galaxy Note 10.1 users almost 50GB of online storage (if it's exactly like mine, this increased storage capacity is good for 2 years).

And, unlike plain tablets, this one allows you to call out.

What about battery life, you might ask? Samsung people say it has been tested good for 16 hours on text and call.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1's SRP is PhP 32,990.
