HTC launches the One

HTC One, the smartphone that gives other smartphones a run for their money, has just launched. This baby already comes with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) and has a quad core processor, the first in the country as of now.

I was at a media preview a few nights ago at the Smart Jump Center and actually got to hold the One and compare it with my Note.

Here are some pictures from that media night.

4 frames/sec. 99 frames in 25 seconds!

I took out my Galaxy Note and did some comparing with the HTC One.

Comparing camera settings. Not bad for the HTC One!

Audiophiles will love the fact that the HTC One comes with Beats Audio which has been made to work with the Beats headphones (Note: the Beats headphones DO NOT COME with your purchase of HTC One. They're purchased separately).

A feature I liked is the One's ability to take pictures while you are shooting a video WITHOUT EXITING the video. I have a digicam that does that also but whenever I realized that when I took stills, it would pause the video. So I would have videos with gaps in them. On the HTC One, no such gaps. Your video continues smoothly and you still have your still shots.

Here are the specs of the HTC One X as provided on their website:

Screen: 4.7 inches (1280x720 resolution)
Display: HD 720p touch
Weight: 130 grams with battery
Speed: 1.5 GHz, quad-core
Platform: Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4
Memory: Total-32GB; RAM-1GB
Camera: 8 megapixels rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front camera, F2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, 1080p HD video recording

On Yugatech's blog, I found that this phone's SRP is PhP 32,990.

Check out the HTC One at Smart's Jump Center and see for yourself.
